Leadership Team

Matt entered the media & entertainment industry in 2010 as a member of Liverpool Football Club. Upon his return to the states, Matt joined boutique corporate consulting firm, Foxrock Partners, working with an extensive client list that included: BBVA, Kraft Foods & Sands Corporation.

Following a transformative two and a half years at Foxrock, Matt moved on to join ANC Sports as the eventual Director of Marketing and Business Development.

In 2015, Matt joined Horizon Media’s sports practice, Scout Sports & Entertainment, as a member of the New Ventures team. Matt played an instrumental role in reshaping Scout’s existing consulting practice by diversifying the product offerings to include: property consulting & analytics, customized event creation, digital & social amplification, while onboarding a number of new brand consulting clients.

Following three years at Horizon Media, Matt accepted a role as the VP of Global Business Development for an exciting startup, BE-AT.TV, the world’s leading live streaming video platform, broadcasting the biggest international music festivals and exclusive events to fans around the globe. At the helm of all revenue-related initiatives, Matt spearheaded the efforts to land exclusive partnerships with the largest event proprietors, AEG & Live Nation, in addition to a number of independent global rights holders.

Matt joined the RIVAL team in March of 2020 as the Chief Strategy Officer overseeing all growth initiatives, before ultimately ascending to his present role as CEO.

Previously, Samir was the Vice President of Business Operations for the Atlanta Hawks and State Farm Arena. In this role, he focused on executing the short and long term strategy across the NBA franchise, including the launch of the Hawks Talon GC (2K League) and College Park Skyhawks (G League) franchises.

Samir was Director of Business Operations for the Houston Astros. In this role, he was responsible for executing the new ownership group’s strategic growth plan across the MLB franchise.

He also served as a co-founder of TLA Worldwide, a publicly listed sports marketing and player representation agency.

Prior to entering the sports industry, Samir worked in venture capital at VantagePoint Venture Partners and in investment banking at Morgan Stanley.

He holds a BA in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Mimi has a breadth of experience in leading finance and back-office operations for both late- stage and venture-backed companies. She began her career in the Risk Assurance practices at KPMG and PricewaterhouseCoopers before leveraging her experience in the VP, Finance, and Accounting role at FOX Interactive and NewsCorp Digital Media. She specializes in working with leadership teams to implement financial processes and controls

Edo Cohen brings 15+ years of extensive experience in digital marketing, mobile apps, SaaS and enterprise software platforms.  Edo started his career co-founding Flipswap, Inc. – a mobile device trade-in software application. From inception to over $110 million in annual revenue and 100+ employees in four years. Following Flipswap’s success, Edo founded SeeVolution, Inc.; a real-time web analytics platform used by over 2,000 websites including IBM, MGM Resorts and Mashable.com. SeeVolution was acquired by Celebros Inc. In 2013, Edo founded a digital marketing and web development firm: Act Bold Media Group – Actbold.com. Act Bold serviced global clients such as Lenovo, VFC Corporation, and Nike. Edo sold his interest in Act Bold to pursue his passion in esports together with Shawn Murnan, and thus Rival Games was born. 

Paul Brewer has a rare mix of traditional sports and esports experience, serving in leadership positions at a wide range of media companies, brands and properties. Most recently as Senior Vice President, Global Sponsorships at ESL, the world’s largest esports company, Brewer was responsible for driving sponsorships of ESL’s global assets with both endemic and non-endemic brands and properties. Prior to ESL, Brewer worked at Warner Media’s Turner Broadcasting overseeing Sales Development and Marketing across Turner Broadcasting’s digital sports properties including, Bleacher Report, NBA, NCAA, PGA and NASCAR.  Brewer joined Turner Sports in 2010 from Samsung Electronics, where he oversaw marketing partnerships and operations for Samsung’s World Cyber Games working closely with partners from major global brands. Brewer started his career at ESPN in their Special Events Marketing department. Brewer holds a Master’s Degree in Sports Business from New York University.

Dan is a Sports Business Journal Forty Under 40 recipient and Adweek Media Allstar, who helped launch Scout Sports & Entertainment, at Horizon Media. He spent almost 10 years overseeing Scout’s sports marketing and experiential business, including directing new business development initiatives in his role as SVP, Managing Director. Prior to that, he spent 4 seasons as Director of Marketing for the Chicago Fire (MLS) and started his career at Strategic.

Dustin spent ten years holding senior-level positions at both the school & regional levels within the prestigious Meritas and Nord Anglia educational systems. Additionally, Dustin has extensive experience with amateur and professional sports orgs – most notably as Sports Events & Sports Operations Manager for ESPN’S Wide World of Sports. He also served as a three-year board member position for the Positive Coaching Alliances and  is recognized as a Certified Athletic Administrator through the National Interscholastic Athletic Administration Association.
