Bologna Fc 1909 are the first professional Football team in Italy to partner with Rival to help grow globally its eSports team

BOLOGNA AND NEW YORK (June 27, 2023) – Bologna Fc 1909 eSports team is delighted to announce the launch of their new gaming community in collaboration with fan engagement platform Rival.

Christoph Winterling, Commercial and Marketing Director of the Club, said: ‘’ We chose Rival as we firmly believe their proven expertise will help our eSports project grow at a global and unprecedented level. This collaboration shows the Club’s willingness to consolidate its position as one of the leaders in the football Fan Engagement market.”

Bologna’s gaming community will offer its fans the opportunity to participate in online tournaments across a variety of game titles. Members of this free-to-play community will play to win special prizes, such as Bologna Fc official merchandise and/or money can’t buy experiences.

Bologna will host its first gaming tournament featuring FIFA 23 on the 6^th of July, with the next ones are being programmed in the near future.

Furthermore, Rival will be the Official Sleeve Jersey Partner of the Bologna Fc 1909 eSports team next season, having brand visibility on the sleeve of all Bologna pro-players and ‘’Offline’’ kits, as well as on Bologna’s eSports official social media accounts.

Leveraging fan engagement platform Rival and its point system, players will be ranked on their team’s leaderboard for skill and participation. Throughout the season, points are awarded based on wins, losses and participation.
