BRIGHTON & HOVE ALBION F.C. LAUNCH “MYALBION GAMING” WITH RIVAL

Fan Engagement Platform to Power the Club’s Online Gaming Community

NEW YORK (Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2022) The English Premier League’s Brighton & Hove Albion Football Club today announced the launch of its online gaming community – MyAlbion Gaming – in partnership with fan engagement platform Rival.

Launching before the club’s first home fixture date of the 2022-23 season, Rival will power the club’s entry into gaming and esports, which will offer a variety of programming and experiences across esports game titles including FIFA and Rocket League.

Brighton & Hove Albion Head of Marketing Anna Easthope said, “With the launch of MyAlbion Gaming, we’re excited to offer a new Albion experience to our fans online. We recognize that fans are already immersed in gaming and esports so we’re thrilled to combine the love of gaming and Albion in one place. We’re looking forward to seeing the engagement and growth Rival’s platform will deliver.”

Brighton & Hove will utilize Rival’s leading fan engagement platform to facilitate gaming leagues and virtual tournaments across different game titles and platforms, with a variety of experiences, including a rewards program.

“This partnership marks Rival’s ninth with a European football club and further emphasizes the power of gaming as an innovative marketing lever for traditional sports,” said Rival Chief Marketing Officer Dan Parise. “We look forward to building Albion’s community of like-minded fans and gamers as we collaborate to provide programming as well as additional sponsorship offerings for its corporate partners.”

Rival powers the gaming communities for more than 40 partners worldwide, across sports properties, media, tech and brands, including nine European football clubs and two MLS clubs.
