NEW YORK (Thursday, May 5, 2022) Celtic Football Club of the Scottish Premiership today announced the launch of its online gaming community, in partnership with fan engagement platform Rival.

Rival will power Celtic F.C.’s further development into gaming and esports, offering fans a central online community to compete in a variety of game titles, with several opportunities for fan rewards and other experiences.

“We are thrilled to offer Celtic fans the opportunity to connect with the club and each other in a virtual gaming environment,” said Celtic F.C. Senior Business Development Manager Miguel Pacheco. “This is just the beginning, and we see endless applications and possibilities to develop an engaging and exciting online community with the Rival platform.”

Celtic will utilize Rival’s leading fan engagement platform to facilitate gaming leagues and virtual tournaments across different game titles and platforms. Rival powers the gaming communities for more than 35 partners worldwide, across sports properties, media, tech and brands, including seven European football clubs and two MLS clubs.

“This partnership marks Rival’s first collaboration with a Scottish club, and we look forward to working with Celtic F.C. to build its gaming community and provide additional levers to integrate with its corporate sponsors in the ever-growing gaming space,” said Rival CMO Dan Parise.
