Panthers to Host Gaming Events Including ‘Puck Series’ Tournaments Throughout 2021-22 Season

SUNRISE, Fla. & NEW YORK (NOV. 19, 2021) – The Florida Panthers announced today a partnership with the innovative gaming platform Rival to assist in growing FLA Panthers Gaming through community building, competitive tournaments and other future Esports initiatives.

“We’re excited to partner with Rival to host our FLA Panthers Gaming tournaments and events throughout the year,” said Panthers Chief Strategy Officer Sam Doerr. “Their innovative platform will be a huge resource for growing our gaming community as we offer unique and exciting incentives for participants.”

Launched in 2020, FLA Panthers Gaming was created as a way for the Panthers to engage with both hockey fans and gamers alike through Esports. Now powered by Rival, FLA Panthers Gaming will expand their offerings to host regular tournaments with exciting prizes and fun competition.

Kicking off Season 1 of FLA Panthers Gaming, the Panthers will be hosting their second 1v1 ‘Sunrise Showdown’ NHL 22 tournament on Sunday, Dec. 5. The event will take place on XBOX One, XBOX Series X/S, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. The winner on each console will receive a customized Panthers jersey as well as a $100 digital credit to FLATeamShop.com.

Additionally, an autographed Panthers puck will be randomly awarded to one participant.

Following the ‘Sunrise Showdown,’ the Panthers will host regular 1v1 NHL 22 tournaments with prizes on the Rival platform throughout the Season 1 of FLA Panthers Gaming. All of these tournaments will be held on XBOX Series X/S and PlayStation 5.

Utilizing Rival’s points system and digital currency to reward players for both skill and commitment, the player with the most points at the end of Season 1 of FLA Panthers Gaming will receive a bonus prize. Throughout the season, points are awarded based on wins, losses and participation.
