Chompions League Debuts with Oct. 18 Madden ’23 Tournament

NEW YORK (Wednesday, October 12, 2022) – In collaboration with Rival, the National Football League’s (NFL) Cleveland Browns launched “Chompions League,” an interactive community dedicated to Browns fans and gamers. The Browns will host its first Chompions League tournament on Tues., Oct. 18 with Madden ’23 on PS5 and XBOX One.

“Through Chompions League and our efforts with Rival, we have the opportunity to engage and as importantly, help connect a community that shares a passion for the Browns, sports and online gaming,” said Senior Vice President of Marketing & Media Brent Rossi. “Whether it’s fantasy football or video games, we have seen how enjoying friendly competition brings people closer together through their love of the game, whether it is occurring physically on a field or within a digital arena.”

Next week’s inaugural tournament will offer prizes including an autographed jersey from Browns Defensive End Myles Garrett, and for future events, the club will explore opportunities to host in-person tournaments and other interactive experiences. Chompions League will also track players’ skill and participation on its leaderboard, leveraging Rival’s point system and digital currency.
