Orlando Sports Foundation x Rival Launching an Esports Community

ORLANDO – April 14, 2021-– The Orlando Sports Foundation, host of ESPN’s Cure Bowl, announced today their partnership with Rival, an enterprise platform solution in the gaming and esports space. This partnership is designed to create a gaming community, named “Gamers for a Cure”, to help raise funds to find a cure for cancer.

The Orlando Sports Foundation hosts multiple events throughout the year, to raise awareness and funds for cancer research, including the Cure Bowl. In partnership with Rival, the foundation will engage the gaming community, continuing its mission to “Bring Teams Together to Find a Cure for Cancer”. The first online event is a Charity Madden Tournament, which will be held on April 28th at 7pm EDT. The entry fee for the tournament is a $5 donation, and participants will compete to win a VIP Cure Bowl ticket package. Proceeds from the tournament will benefit the Orlando Sports Foundation and cancer research.

With the combined support of residents, loyal sports fans, and other partners, the OSF is further dedicated and committed to serving the challenges of cancer awareness and elimination, invigorating the Central Florida athletic community, and supporting youth organizations with standards of benevolence, integrity and moral excellence.

“The Orlando Sports Foundation is looking forward to launching our 10th event with platform provider, Rival.  We want to thank Full Sail’s Josh Mora and his introduction to Paul Brewer’s team at Rival and their work to help the Orlando Sport Foundation expand its event business in support of cancer research.  We believe the partnership with Rival and the international community gamers will have a great impact on our foundation’s continued mission to bring teams together to find a cure for cancer” – Alan Gooch, CEO of the Orlando Sports Foundation

“We are incredibly excited to be partnering with the Orlando Sports Foundation,” said Rival Chief Marketing Officer, Dan Parise. “The Foundation plays such an important role in the Central Florida athletic community, and we’re proud that the Rival platform will help them create more programming in support of cancer research and awareness.”
